Higher Ground is a level higher than the place where one stands which has some potential benefits. It could be described as a progressive movement in all reasonable aspects of life. It is what every human being desires.
When we talk about higher ground, it implies that there is a lower ground. It is those in the lower ground that desire to move to higher ground.
Lower ground is a place of discomfort, a place where sickness strives, a place where there is no peace, no joy, no happiness, no grace, a place of sinfulness; of disobedience to God, of pursuit of earthly things, a place where evil attack occurs.
The Higher Ground is a position where you will be able to fulfill destiny, it is a place where the original blessings of God as contained in Genesis 1:28 manifest in your life, it is a place where you are divinely transformed to Christ likeness, it is place you find and enjoy peace of mind, it is a place all things work good for you, it is a place you wholeheartedly work for God, it is a place where you absolutely surrender your lives to Christ Jesus, it is a place where you mortify sins in your life, it is a place where you offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, it is where your mind is renewed and your life no longer conform to the pattern of this world, it is a place where you display righteousness and holine
Someone in the pit is in a struggling circumstances. Such a person needs a helper to lift him/her to higher ground.
How do people get to lower ground/level? People get to lower ground through:
a. Enemies- Matthew. 13:25. Joseph,his brothers were his enemies- Genesis 37.
b. Enemies within – Gehash Galatians 5:19, James 1:14,
c. Unbelief- Romans 9:30-33. Lamaan, the lepper
d. Test of faith- Job,
e. Disobedience – Saul, 1 Samuel 15.
People who experienced divine intervention to get to higher ground.

3. Esther- Esther 1-4
4. Joseph- Genesis
Who can take you to higher ground:
It is only God that can take you to higher ground. He has the power and authority to change your situation for good.
i. By praying to Him.
God said call on me I will take you to higher ground- Matthew 7:7, Romans 10:13,Mark 9:29. Acts 12:5.
2. By seeking God’s face
3. By Obeying God’s word and instructions.
4. By trusting in the Lord- Daniel 2:1619, 46-49.
5. By having a unswerving faith in God.
6. By praising and worshipping God- Acts 16:25-26.
